Nightmare

I hate not using rhyme scheme so there's some parts with it and some without it. Who cares. I do not conform to the rules of humanity.

Life is nothing but a nightmare

Stricken of all emotion is she

The light for which she craved so deeply

Flares only once, then stutters out

Swept away by a velvet sky

All hope she had will not endure

This heart can simply beat no more

A slow and painful break

While shadows enclose her body

And soulless eyes writhe

Tears fall- Salt of the earth

As oblivion takes her outstretched hand

A hideous cascade of blissful glee

Washes over and chills her core

A mirror's face prays on truth

And sparkling ivory shimmers down

The songbirds desperate cry of sorrow

And a story of timeless desire

Pale and fragile flesh will now crumble

While midnight's air burns like fire

So she walks along the abandoned road

While a lamppost guides her path

One dull light upon another

Until a blade takes its wrath

A cage of wood and satin sheets

Will come even for those who love sin

For her death simply was not the end

Instead, the journey has yet to begin

Mesmerizing and beautiful. This is one those poems I could not stop reading once I had started. It's sad, dark, and quite different. And I like different. Your choice of words is really good, it's as if one can feel them as he reads them. So well done, and keep on writing.
