She wishes death

She wishes death

A Poem by Savannah Gossett

She wished
Her heart had stopped
She wished
Her ears were deaf
She wished
Her hands were hers
She wished
Her brain was gone
She wished
Her cuts were deep
She wished
Her scars were alive
But again she wished
But not for death

It seems the subject is, as the title states, wishing for death, but the last lines refute this. Also, "where" occurs several times, making the lines difficult to understand. I must be missing something here.
