This prison we call school

This prison we call school

A Poem by Savannah Gossett

School?

What is it exactly

Yes it does help you further your education

It helps you get to where you want to be in life

But it is also

Stressful

Tiring

And last but not least

Painful

Now I reference school as a prison

Because in my opinion

It is

I think this because other people in school

Are mean

Controlling

And cruel

They can be your best friend one minute

But then stab you in the back the next

The worst part about it

Is your classmates can hurt you in person

Or online

And those memories of being hurt by them

Never go away

It will get better

But that feeling will always be there

So why do we stay

It is because of our parents

Our future career

Or is it because without those bullies

You feel empty

And empty as if the bullies are to

Everyone has emotions

It just depends on how you decide to express them

So again

School?
