Raindrops Not So Pretty

Raindrops Not So Pretty

A Poem by Hardesty

"
Oh dear, what has become of me!
So hollow that I feel the Fire From Heaven!
Yet so pitiful my tears overwhelm my sty
and I cannot cry again.
I'll take for the raindrops as they fly
downward to their Death.
Looks like I missed the boat
and settled for the scraps I had left.

I may be wrong, but the first half of the poem seems to describe depression. The hollowness, or emptiness, is a description many depressed people give their emotional lives. The tears reflect the sadness that many of the depressed regularly report. The last half of the poem seems to follow in this manner, speaking of death and having ''missed the boat.'' Of course, I could be wrong.

Literally probably edited it 10x before I settled for this. I should plan it out better next time for anyone that read the previous versions. Feel free to critique.
