The Wolf and the Cricket

The Wolf and the Cricket

"
There was a Wolf
From a Prestigious Family.
He was Never Successful at Hunting,
So with Nothing to Eat,
He Ate his Parents.

Hungry,
And On his First Night Out,
The Wolf Met a Cricket.

The Cricket Asked Politely,
"Would You Like to Hear a Tune?"
The Wolf Laughed,
"You are Minuscule,
And I, A Wolf,
Know What Becomes of Something,
As Weak as You."

The Cricket Took his Hat Off
And Smiled.
"I May Not Be a Meal,
And I May Not Be Able to Heal,
But I Never Burned a Candle
I Couldn't Handle,
And From the Straps of My Sandals,
I Rub the Spines of My Feet."

The Wolf then Wept.
And the Cricket Applauded,
"Don't Ever Speak
Of Something Weak,
For We Do Not Hunt
But Honor I Can Keep."
