Hate

Hate

A Poem by Arlen

What makes us succumb to hate?
Do we ever question our own fate?
Why consume ourselves with all our angers?
We're all colorless souls, yet we act as if strangers.
Is it the stealing of another's energy that makes us tough?
It's temporary satisfaction but in the end, is it really enough?
Yet we still have questions lingering inside
So why do we use hate to run from the answers and hide?
Maybe we like to just hear the answer
This mistake of not questioning is the real cancer
What happened in our life to turn us this way?
We live in the past instead of searching for a brighter day.
It's our foolish emotion to act jealous of love
See that we're all part of the ball headed for the glove
In the end we just need to let it go
Drop that burden and really allow us to grow
