Cocoon

Cocoon

A Poem by HarleyQuinn Bruce

I'm sorry my friend,
You poor cocoon,
It was late at night
I picked you too soon

You clenched to the flower
And prayed to evolve
Such an act of destruction
and it will never resolve

I'm sorry my friend,
the many in so few
now just a lifeless embryo
In a world you never knew

Farewell my son,
I never intended
to have or to give away
I never knew you at all
and we have no connection
but I can still feel
your pain
