Lost Loose Ends

Lost Loose Ends

A Poem by Harriet Rose
"

I wrote this poem when my girlfriend and I broke up in december '15.

"
How can I dream after a day like today?
After you ripped my heart straight from my chest?
I should have known I'd have that price to pay,
but still, was it really for the best?
Was the pining and crying really worth my time?
Were our cogs and machines stuck and shaking,
clogged and stiff and full of grime?
I could feel the pipes and connections breaking,
but did you have to do it that way?
Act like it was all fine and we could just be friends?
What you don't see is that its not okay.
We can't tie up these lost loose ends.
