Day Dreams

Day Dreams

A Poem by Hayden Ferguson
"

A look inside of a child's imagination

"

The same old boring class makes me tired

I am only here so that one day I will get hired

Oh god somebody please start a fire

Ideas start to fancy inside of my head

I am exposed to vivid hallucinations red

As I stare into my pencil lead

Creatures of my own creation are fleeing from my imagination

Capturing me in an net of inescapable procrastination

Water bottles turn into bodies of water trapped inside of typhoons

Astronauts are flying around the room in an orchestra of bassoons

Iron giants are in the fields chasing butterflies

While goblins are lurking around the empty desks in disguise

Tangerine reptilians are waging war outside of the door

Lava is flowing onto the floor

I then feel a stern touch by a hand

Realizing I have spent too much time in my wonderland

Turning to find a confused Mrs. Haverty

It was now time to return back to reality
