Prison of my own design

The walls I built
Were meant to protect me

But here i am
Scared, frightened and lonely
Within this dark prison I built myself

I call out for help
No one hears me

I try to break out
Not much luck

But what's on the other side?
I've been here so long
Have i forgotten so easily

A microscopic light just formed
I try and touch it
I am filled with warmth
The walls soon collapse

Here I am
Scared
Frightened
But no longer lonely
There is people who love me

I think we just get used to the comfort of ourselves. We just forget to share and open up. We brainwash ourselves.

I really liked it, you executed the personal prison thing much better than I did. Only thing is you wrote "There is people who love me." However, for boring grammatical reasons it's "There are people who love."

I liked this. The last line should have read:
There are.... However, was your use of 'is' perhaps intentional, an accent? Was your lower case use of 'I' for effect?
Quite raw, strong emotions came across. I felt quite moved by the last stanza. Very moving.
