My Best Friend

My Best Friend

A Poem by Hayli Makenna
"

The struggles of having a best friend.

"
I'd looked at him,
brown hair,
brown eyes,
and he'd stared back at me.
I knew what he saw
reddish blonde hair,
green eyes,
bright smile.
And
oh
how bad I wanted to know
what he truly thought.
What is he thinking
when he gets lost in the
screen
over video-chat?
What did he think when
we said
"I love you."
Was it really platonic?
Or maybe he'd felt the same,
and all I know,
is that if I want him to stay,
I simply cannot tell him how I feel.
I truly
just want to know
what he thinks
of me.

Oh don't I know that feeling all too well ...

Your going crazy about the person but if you said it you may look a fool ... if you stayed quiet, you may miss out on the best thing of your life. To know what they think, that would make things so much easier ... or would it ... Which would hurt more, words spoken or thoughts read.

If only nature could give us some clues ... ah but there's the rub, it does!
