A drop in the ocean

A drop in the ocean

A Poem by helen shanthi

I see at the distance,
Am I hallucinating or is that aiming at me?
I'm vexed waiting for the rain.
My heart beats faster as I see it approaching me,
wait..that can't be true..I'm hallucinating...
I tell myself.
But as they say "the heart wants what it wants",
The mirage slowly disappears and the vision gets clearer,
I widen my eyes and see a stream,
Even the sound of the gushing waters makes my throat yearn.
As I run with the little might I have,
I turn back and look at that beautiful distraction and...
I tumble as the one I aim at becomes nothing but a blurry vision!
