How lucky can I be?

How lucky can I be?

A Poem by Andre Peterson

Have you ever heard a voice so small?
So gentle?
It could bring my quarrels to ease.
As I look into your eyes,
as I hold you as the most precious thing in my world.
I feel all the pain melt away.

It has been a few minutes since we first met yet I loved you the moment I saw you.
Oh, little one.
I've been dying to meet you.
I wish this moment could last forever.

And as my dream fades back into reality.
I step back and let you sleep.
Of precious dreams.
Of everything sweet.

As I turn to the door, I realize I have a new reason to stay.
How could I leave now?
How could I when I know you need me?
Just know little one, that I love you from your tiny head,
to your tiny feet.
Nothing would ever change that.
How lucky can I be?
