A Poem by Andre Peterson

A shared moment of emotion.
A shared moment where I can finally relate.
This pain in my heart means more than anything.
No bright eyes to be found, no sound of a small ones laugh.
No scenery on lush mountains far from this place I must call home.
Although the sun is bright my mind seems dark.
You can't possibly understand, for I would listen your words as if you were angel sent.
Years and years.
We can go on years and years.
But to receive more and lose greater.
What else is left?
They forget.
Every last word, they forget.
Every morning is similar and at night the stars never change.
My passion untold and looked past in a mocking way.
You grow tried of sleeping, without hope to share with a friend.
Time goes by.
And you just grow tired.
