A Poem by Andre Peterson

The ocean once filled this canyon and took us far beyond it's rugged terrain.
Sailing with nothing more than starlight as our own guiding way.
We all seeked a meaning, far beyond our own purpose.
Like a calling voice heard from just across the turrential waves of this large, cold ocean.
Although it seems within my many years of seafaring across the ocean's way, is that we all lose a part of ourselves once we are in sight of a place to stay.
We are all lovers chasing lovers but our loves never feel as if we haven't sailed far enough.
We all pass each other from our barques sadly, without as much as a looking back glance.
The waters echoed soft with songs of passion, hearts in it's fullest content.
It saw great men sink to it's depths, a true gentleman's death.
Now hear the stories of how the greatest of aches came to a pleasant end.
Sail off in search of those who stand valiantly beside you, undaunted by the journey ahead.
For a conquered heart only beats for those who prove to be truly unafraid.
