A Poem by Andre Peterson

It was louder than loud. I had to shield my eyes to the blinding light that had erupted before me.
Then there was silence.
Dust floated around the rim of my glasses.
My world around me had formed once more.
I hesitated to speak.
I called out to my friend concered and heard him "hush" me softly.
His eyes direct towards his own fortunes, his hands calming the air in my direction.
I held my breath, I closed my eyes, hoping that I may receive what I desperately wanted.
Then like the day before him, he was gone.
