My Knight

There I was, in a land all strange

No face familiar, no road that safe.

Eyes filled with fear, and a heavy heart,

Not knowing from where I had to start.

I felt all alone but I didn't know,

There was someone there who did not show.

Those eyes were on me everywhere I go,

They had a diamonds gleam, and were fair as snow.

You had found me and I couldn't help but smile,

Every wrong there was you made it right.

To me no one was ever so dear,

When you hold my hand, I know there’s nothing to fear.

I know the problems you face and the troubles you deal

But I’ll stand beside you and ease the pain you feel.

You might fool others by that beautiful smile you wear,

But I can see that your heart is breaking, in real.

Don’t be sad, my love, I’m always here

Your smile to me is o so dear

I won’t let it fade; I’ll wipe your tears

I’ll share that weight that alone you can’t bear.

So close your eyes; turn off the light,

I’ll hold you tight in my arms tonight.
