What does it mean to be alone?

Does it mean to be physically separated from others?

Does it mean to be emotionally separated from others?

Does it mean to be an outcast among your peers?

What does it mean to be alone?

Does it mean your friends abandon you?

Does it mean your family hates you?

Does it mean your own thoughts turn on you?

What does it mean to be alone?

Does it mean that nobody knows who you are?

Does it mean that everybody knows who you are?

Does it mean that those who know you, condemn you?

What does it mean to be alone?

It means

That no matter your surroundings

There will be that empty feeling in your chest

The one that will never really go away

The one that everybody feels at some point

But you can never explain it

That's what it means to be alone.
