My madness with green

My madness with green

A Poem by Oliver Silvermane

my madness with green
and blue
and every other color in between
flashing in those eyes
sparkling like many colored diamonds
grows and grows and grows
and I love to write poetry
in their praise
and soak my beat up soul
in the gaze of those swept up eyelashes

imagining them is the antithesis
of the plumes of ash
rising from the factory shed
near my colony:
a colony as beat up as me
hungry
emaciated
drunk
unsure if cancer will kill
or rioting

but I'll stick to my Utopia
for now
drinking slowly from the rum of her eyes
and drifting
drunk
happy
numb

hell is when I'm sober

An excellent piece of poetry. If that's what a pair of eyes can do to you, long may you have your Utopia. Really enjoyed your poetic expression here and the use of internal rhyme. Well done.
