The Cloak and Dagger

The Cloak and Dagger

A Poem by Hojang Wright
"

One step in, another out.. Soot covers in ashen grey, As I go up and seize the day, Grabbing towards the sky, knowing one day I could fly

"

Soot covers in ashen grey,

As I go up and seize the day,

Grabbing towards the sky, knowing one day I could fly

I come stumbling down,

For our lazy afternoon has come to an end

And a sinister sundown begins to arise

The night of fate dawns near, bringing me to cling to fear,

I reach for the light, for i know it is dangerous in spite

That I will one day come close to my goal,

for this endless night must come to an end,

for the inkwell draws near,

The light becomes clear.

I embrace myself, and ride in the night,

Becoming one with darkness and light

A step in the ground and another up,

You may see me in and all around out

For I know it is only me who can come and gash,

Making my crusade sound loud and rash,

For I have unified myself, I live on happily,

Ready to strike and hide,

Run and gun like Vasily,

I have become the night and day,

Which brings into the fray,

For whether or not I will help those in need

With and hand and ladder

Or a cloak and dagger
