The Flame of Love

The Flame of Love

A Poem by HoneyBee

The red hotness of love,

Surrounded me in flames,

And took me into the fire,

It held me in its arms,

Only to sprinkle me in salt,

And eat me alive,

It suffocated me,

In the darkness,

Forcing me to be blind,

Then shoved me into the light,

Only for a second,

Just to trick me again,

Then back into Hell,

It pulled me down,

Laughing along the way,

The flames would rise,

Quicker this time,

Hungry to taste me,

Slowly the heat rolled,

Over my heart and soul,

Taking me away forever.
