Grieve

Grieve

A Poem by Honors Student

Pain is coursing through my veins,
Somehow, I need to take this agonizing roller coaster by the reins,
Who could be to blame but the fool in the mirror?
Is this what they call being strong?
Am I the only one who finds this misery wrong?
My heart beats sadly to the slowly fading song my pulse is singing.
I tried so hard to please the world with what I believe,
But their own wicked hearts had them deceived,
Now I am left alone among the lifeless bodies to grieve.
