Doorways & Windows

Doorways & Windows

A Poem by Niall Madden

Knock, Knock.

"Who's there" my dream and destiny arrives,

come to lead me down pathways of my infinitely possible lives.

Halting, just a second, all three of us planted to the floor.

In studious observance of one window & two doors.

One is hallmarked "dreams" the more enticing door,

sleek finish, flashy paintjob, it holds overall grandeur.

The second of the two is labelled "Destiny" straight across.

Oaken solid slab, a sturdy, steady bore.

We all begin to converse, Dreams, Destiny & I.

For we wish to stay Unbroken, strong & unified.

instead of working as three ideologies. We bond

To form one working mind and body.

we begin to set our aims up high,

now bonded in a collective tie.

Dreams and destiny connect like a never-ending ladder.

As we clamber through the Picturesque window. Together.

Another lighter poem. This one is using the theme of aspirations.

I enjoyed the premise of this one Niall. Personifying the two and yet they remained ethereal. The writing is clever and the story well told - some beauts in the rhyming too.
I would stop to read this before I'd go past it my friend so thats fair - eh?

Congratulations on your placing in the Deep Down Poetry contest.

Well penned commentary on everyone's journey to answer the call of destiny while fulfilling our dreams, and remaining true to our souls.

I just finished a chemistry essay on bonding the coincidence is weird. I liked the poem to me it was escaping predestiny and going to make your own instead of clambering through the trail many of us walk the speaker decided to blaze a new one
