Only A Dream

This is one of my dreams that I really liked but left me with something unpleasant

I look at you but you're not there

Hopeless is what I feel even when I don't shed a tear.

I am afraid to stop looking so I keep on going 

For you're the only one that makes my dark disappear.

You crack a smile through all my despair 

And make me realise things will prevail. 

When I wake up I notice it's all a dream

We can never be, the world will never see

What would happen with you and me.

Then I figured that you are my friend

And I didn't want this to end.

Author's Note

It's about a dream I had about a girl I thought I loved but then I figured that I didn't and now we are great friends.

First off, the "your" should actually be "you're", meaning you are. But otherwise, I really enjoyed this! I'm sure we all have those dreams about people who we think we're in love with. I know I've had my share of them...but I'm glad to hear that you two are still good friends.
