You bring me a lighter

You bring me a lighter

A Poem by Rae
"

you know so little, you dance so well

"

You bring me a lighter
cause my house is on fire.
What I need is a spray can
to complete this graffiti
of a word bubble
leading from your mouth.
Because you're really funny
when you lie there bleeding.
Your timing is perfect
and you play it so seriously.

My wounds don't heal
because they tell stories,
but your wounds are infected
from always holding grudges.

Poor you,
like a gorilla in a tu-tu:
always pleasing and resentful
and thankful to your master.
Dancing the same dance
over and over to audiences
applauding for an encore,
you've confused training by brutal beating
with wisdom.

But you are so proud
that you were beaten so well.
You learned your lesson.
Yes, you dance so well.
You dance so very well.
