The Fight Within

The Fight Within

A Poem by Maxwell

Uncertain of the next step
With shadows of deceit all around
The legs freeze in a moment of turmoil
As the devilish snickering wraps it in fear

The wind drags by with a deep howl
The heart goes into a dark cage
The mouth dries up in an instant
As the horrors of the night become apparent in the distance

A step is all it takes, signals the brain
The hands make a ball of fist and slams into the thighs
With a loud shriek, the mouth roars from the heart
The leg thumps the ground and the night terror disappears into the night.

A nice little poem, good use of figures of speech! My favorite being, "With a loud shriek, the mouth roars from the heart". The heart beating so loud that it "roars" from the mouth.
Nice and short, nice and short.
