If Only I Were Stedfast as a StarA Poem by IceDragonOfPlutoThis is a rendition of Keats' sonnet, "Bright Star." This is my own work. This poem is dedicated to the very "inspiration" of why I started writing my sonnet sequence.
If only I were stedfast as a star
That shines the skies for all eternity, I would shine light across the lands afar, Brightening the world so I could always see That face Nature painted with fairest skin And fiery hair that burns me with delight, Those lusty lips pleading to linger in To taste my own all through a heated night. I would forever shine with sweet unrest, Embracing you with my immortal rays, Feeling forever your soft, panting breast Against my own while locked in steady gaze. I would never stop gazing in your eyes If I were stedfast as stars in the skies. © 2011 IceDragonOfPlutoReviews |
