A Love Between Eternal Souls

This is a conversation between the two characters in my play. Keep in mind that this is a rough draft.

Bertrand
My dear, when I first gazed into your eyes,
Transfixed was I before those precious gems
Which lit my way out of this dark abyss,
Threatening to damn my soul. My weary
Heart has never known such bliss before you.
So magical that moment was to me,
When your sweet words did grace my longing ears.
Oh you who stole my heart, my soul, and all;
In just one glance, you took my breath away!
I felt as if we've met before, as if
Past lives have bound our souls in one.
Your heart and mine, they beat in unison.
I clutch my chest to know that this is real,
And yet I fear that you may disappear.
Sweet Camilla, please hold this weary hand
Of mine. I beg, I plead just one sweet kiss
From thine honeyed lips is all I shall need
To last with me for all eternity.
I fear that my passions, my desire
For you can no longer be quenched. My dreams,
My thoughts, my prayers: to you they are addressed.
Yes love, I dare think of you before God!
Oh damn my soul, keep me from heaven's light
If I am seperated from my love!
May all the angels of the mighty king
Rain their arrows and pierce my beating heart.
My love, for you, this world is not enough.
Had I divine power, I would create
For you and I our own seperate world
Away from pain. A world where you and I
are alone together, our own Eden.
In this world, nothing would keep me from you.
Not time nor death would rule our own sweet world,
Only our love to guide us through the years.

Camilla
My love, inside your eyes which long for me
And dream to hold me close in your embrace;
So lost am I, yet know that I am found.
How great an Eden of our very own should be,
Where you and I shall live eternally
Without pain, without strife. Oh hold me close!
From your embrace, please never let me go.
Let not distance keep me away from you
Whose heart does beat in sync with only mine.
Oh yes, my dear! In past lives, we have met
And here, once more, we're destined to be one.

Bertrand
I knew this day would come again. Oh how
I've waited many lifetimes just to see
Those azure eyes which openedmy dark heart
And let the light of love shine in my soul
Once more. Oh you hath set me free, my sweet.
My weary heart is now fulfilled by you.

Camilla
Has all my life waited for just one day
Where we should meet, to reconnect our past?
This love we share cannot be kept at bay
Now that our souls are intertwined, at last.

Bertrand
My only love, oh how I've longed for you
All of these years, hoping this day would come
Where once again,to find mydream come true,
Whose tender heart is where I find my home.

Camilla
Has fate ensured that we should love again?

Bertrand
Oh yes, sweet fate has blessed our ancient souls.

Camilla
Then may our souls come once more to reclaim
This love we share that builds our hearts as whole.

Bertrand
I bless our fate that keeps meby your side.

Camilla
Then in my heart, your soul shall there reside.

A Gypsie and a Rose I see as it goes through the words that I read as I sit and I need the one true love that I have always felt, before her I have not knelt on bended knee but before her whos' face I've yet to grace I will be on knee bent with ring in hand and ask her to be my wife for all of life to come I know that in my soul she was made for me and I her for her to see that one day we will meet face to face as it should and will be You see my love is one that yet I have to see but soon that day will come and soon our hearts will and souls will be as one.
