Dreams be dreamsA Poem by Ida C. Stavnes
Previous Version This is a previous version of Dreams be dreams. Never tell me dreams aren't worth having, don't tell me everything will be all but lost. Then I will tell you that nothing is out of reach, nothing is more worth fighting for, nor too high a cost.
Dreams give us hope, and hope is the wind in our sails, it's the one thing we need to reach that pot of gold. And just because the wind is blowing in someone else's sails, doesn't mean your destination is all but sold.
Because a dream is really a destination, and yours alone, but that particular destination is often far away. But just because there are high peaked mountains and ferocious streams to cross, doesn't mean you won't get there someday.
For at times it might seem completely hopeless, and you may find it hard just to believe. But then it will be comforting to remember, that dreams are not worth as much if they're easy to achieve.
Remember, there'snothing stronger than the power of will, it will guide you through every journey on which you embark. It will give you strength to face your deepest fears, and it will light up your way through the dark.
So never tell me dreams aren'tworth having, for nothing is ever as hopeless as it seems. Whatever in this life you'll choose to do, promise me this, never let your dreams be dreams. © 2008 Ida C. StavnesReviews
