Now and then

Now and then

A Poem by Abhra

This is so much a love song
that my body Brazil like sways
from the brass in your voice
The hum from the sea that seeps

somewhat like a twilight breath
the sound of words rustling
and you break tongues to draw from
their breath
as you say 'hearts break and hearts wait'

The faint congress of guitars reminds me of the drizzling rain
and my windows dissolve into Escher's still life and street

And sighs open in which the nights
come home to fireflies
the darkness of kohl lines the waters of Rhone
and her arms open only to the moon.

how painfully beautiful this reads, so much longing, you re such an amazing voice that if I were able to sing it would sound soft and wounded as the night that wrote this.
