Memories

A Poem by Paradoxical
"

I will always remember you, my sister, my friend...

"
Memories
That's all I have of you
All I'll ever have now
Memories
I'll never forget what we had
I just wish you could remember too
That time, those times
we spent as kids
Climbing trees
Playing in the rain
All the fun we had
Everything we did
Was a beautiful game
I was free with you
I could be as I am
We could do anything
Go anywhere
Scream and shout
As clouds gathered
Above our heads
In the classrooms
Messing around
Disrupting class
I remember
laughing so hard
that our sides split
I remember
Those sleepless nights
Talking for hours
Crashing early morning
Sharing stories and secrets
Telling fears and sorrows
Reminiscing in memories
Leaning on bark
On a hot summer's day
I remember
The life we lived
Free and happy
Careless children
The longest friend
I ever had
And I loved you
We would sit forever
Watching clouds take shape
Feeling the wind blow
At the park, on the swings
Racing through the grass
Monsters and water bottles
Sugar and happiness
I loved when we were hyper
Bouncing all around
And I remember all those moments
When we just sat
Silent, watching
The world shift around us
But we had our own world
In our dreams
We would fight
A thousand armies
And pick a hundred roses
Roll down the biggest mountain
And fly across the open sky
We'd search out castles
And when we tired
We would wake up
And run around in real life
Goofy little fools
When we would travel
By moonlight
Through the desert
Paths worn through
Far into the darkness
Just to see what we'd find
And we sang
We played music
For hours at a time
Singing and dancing
Until someone got tired
And we would sleep
until the sun woke us up
I remember
The dark nights
Hiding from the spooks
From the ghosts
And the psychics
Our group
Finding out new things
And I can recall
When we fell down
And we had to pull ourselves up
Then we laughed it off
Everything was grand
Everything was love and friendship
Hanging out every day
Just to get away from it all
And we would explore
Down to the Tree
And we would run away
Kids buried under boards
Burned dead
But we just ran
And found somewhere better
A different place to laugh
Somewhere we never had to run from
And we had fun
We'll always have fun
In our memories
And I remember
Smiling
Crying
Laughing
Singing
Will you remember too?

I write because it is my dream to be a writer and I enjoy it. I can pour my heart into a poem or a story and make it as artistic as I want. It's a beautiful thing to have the words to express myself w.. more..
