Cloak And Dagger

Cloak And Dagger

A Poem by Immortal Beloved

I saw you, said the universal greeting then froze too transfixed by your amazon eyes.

I wanted to tell you how much I’ve yearned for you.

How five years have plagued my heart.

How I spent days that turned into years writing about you.

Your face forever raping my vision.

Remembering the days when I gave you roses almost every Valentine’s Day in school.

You’re the reason no my muse that brought out the lover in me.

I’ve written so much that involved you: good, bad, pain, and sorrow.

I fought all my battles head on and you are the only battle I lose to everytime.

The bullet piercing my CHF heart.

The dagger of betrayal in my back.

The sun burning my sight away.

Another number on The Undertaker’s undefeated Wrestlemania streak.

A victim to Hulkamania.

The water extinguishing my eternal phoenix candle flame.

Jess, all I can say is that I’ve had this long phoenix passion crush on you and it’s tearing me up every second of my miserable life.

Every song I listen to has some resemblance to you and it’s used for whatever story it pushes me toward.

My life changed the day I saw you.

But all I am is a fool in love with you.

Trying to lose weight to impress you.

Ain’t got a car.

No job.

Little money.

Still living at my parents house.

But my love for you will never die unless you reject me.

I came home after the carnival and just sat out front crying for 45 minutes straight about it no lie it just shows how weak and shy I am.

I lack initiative when it comes to spilling my guts like that.

But via a computer screen and a program called WordPerfect 12 it’s much easier to divulge my emotions kinda like a confessional booth.

But all I can really say is that the same night I dreamed that I told you of my crush and you accepted me which just upset me further.

Made my heart weaker and tighten ever more.

Hell even if you did accept me, I’d probably die just from the happiness.
