falling

falling

A Poem by paperdaydreams

I look at you
And straight away I'm falling
Tripping and falling
On the floor
Not caring
About the bluey yellow
Bruises you've inflicted
The wounds I can see
They will come
I trip and fall for you
The barriers I built up
Like the layers of makeup
Are slipping
My fingertips clutch
Onto any word that falls
From your sweet lips
I have a little colletion
In my mind
Of words you have uttered
To me
Some people collect shells
They find by the frothing sea
Others ornaments
Or china dolls
Or books
But I can't hold my collection
In my hands
For the whisps are so thin
They would only fall through
Like my body and mind
I'm falling for you
