My Sanctuary

My Sanctuary

A Poem by Indigo Rose

Unpick your locks

And creak your hinges

Open your steely doors

And envelop me in your blinding dark.

Your deafening silence

Unburden my  shoulders

From the weight of a thousand pressures

From an all seeing eye,

An omnipresent media,

From a contradicting society,

From a conceited culture

From taboos, and to dos

From needless wishes and wants

Lay down my head

And muffle the moans of conflict

Quieten the voices that doubt

That meddle

Manipulate

And mock

Still the channels that pump hate

And loathing

For the very body that had made them

And be my sanctuary

My refuge

When at the end of the day

I just need to hide from myself.
