We Matter In Black

We Matter In Black

A Poem by InkAndScrolls
"

So what the color we wear? We all bleed red, breathe the same air

"
Knees bent
A crack against a life
Was heard around the world tonight
God knows we've been through enough
Where's the love, where's the love?

Black is beautiful can't you see?
We matter. We matter.
Black is beautiful can't you see? We matter. We matter.

They say when it's dark enough you can see the stars
Got a light in our souls
No matter color we are
Light up the sky
Light up the sky

I'm the waitress tired tonight
The artist looking for a stage tonight
The welfare kid trying to survive
A nurse looking for a smile in the eye
So what the color we wear
We all bleed red, breathe the same air
Have the love, have the love

When the doctors and nurses save your life, I bet you don't think of colour, you're just grateful to be alive.
Division only makes a country weak, and weakness is helpful to your enemies.

Beautiful and current. "Where's the love" indeed.
