The Flame

The Flame

A Poem by Aaron Parker
"

Burned by the very flame I was destined to tame.

"

Flame burns so bright

It glows soft blue,

Gives off sweet light,

Brings life anew

*

Turning memory to ash

Nostalgia to lust

With a bright flash

Turns all to dust

*

It rids of fear

Speaks of grit

Sheds a tear

But never acquits

*

Love accompanies fire

Like an ill emotion

Creating insane desire

Like a love potion

*

No one really understands

The power of fire

Passion and desire

Until burned by its hand

*

It leaves all to chance

In a sweet romance

Dulls all other memory

And grates like emery

*

The sweet conflagration

That creates such temptation

The great flame

Untamed

Burns without regret

Unable to forget

What life anew

Once meant to you
