Unity, a Lost Cause

Unity, a Lost Cause

A Poem by Aaron Parker
"

A combination of religious and human insight.

"

Unified were the people

In thought, action, and language

*

They built a tower to the heavens

Made of brick

Held together by tar

*

Pulled apart brick by brick

By the hand of God

After he asked himself,

What have I created?

*

He scattered the people

And confused their language

*

They had become too much alike

Too much, too much...

*

He made them rebuild the tower

From common stones,

Unique and individual

*

A house divided against itself cannot stand

Honesty is appreciated. I know the piece is quite blunt.
