My Ducks ! Well not actually my ducks..... they belong to the duck pond up the road lol.

The Return of Donald and Gertrude and some other dude

 

There I was going about my Sunday

When my Son Joe shouts “Mum look out the front window “

Well bless my soul! There below the lamp post in the rain,

Stand Donald and Gertrude and some other duck that won’t be named

I grab my camera and snap away, but the wall gets in the way,

Their on the move now, and make a left turn into our garden.

I grab some bread enticing them up my path,

Next they settle on my grass.

And there they sat for half an hour or more.

I was sad last year when the ducks didn’t appear

I hope there come back to visit me, many times this year.

Haha, this was fun to read, I love ducks! It feels really nice to get a pleasant distraction from daily tasks, and there was this simple joy that comes very easily. I like the rhyme, that succinct account, and the title is also really interesting. Donald duck brings back childhood memories...and well I loved reading this, keep writing.
