Letter To The Perfect Guy

Letter To The Perfect Guy

A Poem by Kristin

Would you toss me away, useless in the grave?
Buried in the ground, a mistake to save?

To be the guy who could read my tears
Comfort me and banish my fears

“I’ve been dieing a little more each night.”
“Wondering if he who claimed to be my savior of light.”

Letter to the perfect guy, where ever he may be
Blind in the darkness, no where to see

Grasping the hand of a dream’s last thought
Moonset eyes, breathless, my look he’s caught

Could he understand who I’ve been?
Look past the mistakes and forgive all my sins.

Even when I whisper out of sight
Could he still hear me clearly, and hold me tight?

“Could you forgive my tainted heart as I walk away?”
“Would you sincerely hush my tears today?”

A mockery game of my crush on you
I can’t listen for your voice, who knew

Give me the world, and invade my mind
Be with me forever, and always be kind

To the perfect guy, the letter never to come
Never to release a different eye of some

For I still dream of you
Protecting me and letting my caged bird flew

Putting trust into the one I love
For even the heavens spoke the name above

Looking to a new name
Letter to my perfect guy, showing no shame

“Please, don’t leave me only a half being.”
“I’ll watch your every step, seeing…”

“Let me go, you don’t know…”
“Who I’ve been, or whom I claim to be my heart’s foe.”

Would you lift me up and never let go?
Anything to hide, or is it all to show?

To show me how you really love me
To the sky I call, wherever you may be

I’ve never lost hope and I won’t start today
Your name in scripted in the sea’s overset bay

Never to erase your face from what I hold
The letter to you, my perfect guy, should remain in my heart, never to grow cold.
