There's the Moon

There's the Moon

A Poem by Mark
"

How do we know what is intricate to our being and what can be changed about ourselves?

"
Walking the edge of love and sadness
crawling along these lighted dreams
I fell in the darkness, seeing light
Then I prayed forgiveness from the Moon.

Slipping on the razor between time and love
falling, bleeding, healing again. Again.
I no longer feel the sharpness like pain past;
There is only the soft light of the Moon.

I longed for the madness of not knowing
the sharpness of those spikes of the heart
held me away from, and above myself
I drifted slowly, no light, no sound, no Moon.

Giving up is opening to being given
If what is not found is never refused
but in the light, or in the dark
I am what I am, and I pray to the Moon.

Would I be so different if I could
reach in and pull from me this ... thing
I am better off alone, I mantra
But I am still whole, and there's the Moon.

Yes the Moon has several meanings universally and one personal Thanks for your feedback! :)
The moon had been a friend many times in my life. I like the journey and the strong ending. Somehow a full moon can give energy to even the tire in life. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.

Thank you lee you bring a different perspective that is greatly appreciated. :)
a poem of remembering pain and healing, hope and how the heart clings to the possibility of love while still fighting to be independent. Often we want to have our cake and eat it too and lose weight. While we can't have everything we want, life is beautiful and I think when you pray to the moon or your higher power you are given exactly what you need and it is enough, if only you have faith, belief in things unseen......happiness is yours XX
