Evoked Memory

Evoked Memory

A Poem by Mark
"

Something different, experimental for me.

"
Reflected through the prisms of your words
the sparkling lights illuminate
the map of my psyche.

Would I never have felt the experience
if you had never shared solid translucent dreams,
cold whisping from their freezer burns?

Stale butterflies and old grass smells
The scent of an insect torn.
The birds crying foul.

From the deepness
the high priestess
did summon,

and so, half seen half felt, they came.

hahah...thankyou..:)
This experiementing is working for you, Mark. I didn't care for the first stanza--it seemed to be precursery to the rest of the poem, like you were stretching getting ready for the actual poem. The rest though, wow! *wisping
"cold whisping from their freezer burns" "stale butterflies" "scent of an insect torn" and that last line, just wow. great job! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Eglan... you are very perceptive, the first few lines did feel like I was stretching :)
I like this, but I liked the last few lines. I don't know what this makes me think, probably not what you were thinking, but in art, and poetry, I think the reader is allowed to let this come to them they way they need it. Good art shows the emotion of the artist, great art bring emotion from the onlooker. Does that make sense? Anyways, You got me some emotion from this read! =)
