Life

A Poem by Mark
"

Fishing is such a great pastime.

"
I cast my knitted days
letting them drift.
Anticipating the next surprise
I stand on the bank of dreams,
staring at time drifting through my net,
and hope.

Fishing is a form of meditation for some people, a chance to reflect on life etc. I'd suggest changing the tense though, so it's more powerful. Ex: "I cast my knitted days, / let them drift. / I anticipate the next surprise / on the bank of dreams. / I stare at time drifting through my net, / and hope." Thanks for sharing!

Thank you sir, your praise is worth much to me. :)
A very good poem. I use to go fishing with my father. I wasn't a great fisherman like him. Time with friends and water were the best day. I enjoyed the poem. You took me to a good place. Thank you.

Like this a lot, an extended metaphor that naturally describes a situation, never forced or unnatural, with a Japanese wisdom and brevity of observation, excellent

thank you so much Leslie.
fishing indeed is great past time and you can also be able to reflect on things as you stare down the ocean or stream. Life is a vast water of dreams!

Wonderful work sir Mark.

It can be captain! Thank you for reading.
Life is so like fishing. This was brought out beautifully by you in this poetry.

"I stand on the bank of dreams,
staring at time drifting through my net,
and hope" - This so awesome and such a great truth on life, dreams and hopes.

Just excellent and my pleasure to read. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you :)
Whether this is fishing for love or really about fishing.. I must say you do justice to the thought of either :) I miss fishing..and drive the fisherman along the river nuts because I stop and chat... and love...well you can never get to much of that.. xo
