A Poem by Mark

Being human presumes we will move
in unison, in pairs, on battlefields
or light as feathers on air;
we dance.

Under the life giving blaze of the sun
in red fields where death ends
without understanding, or clarity;
we dance.

Billions of tears, billions of laughs
on joy spread like butter on toasts of romance
In searing hate, in bone jarring love;
we dance.

Always, under the stars
seeing in moonlight or not
tearing at hearts or mending souls;
we dance.

We might hold ourselves apart
away from life, with hope of God.
Still, without each other how can
we dance?

We live in the world and with the world;
therefore we must dance with each other;
however we are not of the world.
You know what I mean?
I hope so!
Thought-provoking write, Mark.
