Please Ignore

Please Ignore

A Poem by Dawn Jones

Please ignore

The dirt upon my shoes

The dust in the creases of my jeans

The moth-holes in my shirt

I'll only be a little while

Just let me sit and see

Please ignore

The smudges on my face

The roughness of my hands

The lost look in my eyes

Just let me be warm beside you

Please ignore

The few moments it will take for me to warm myself

Before I disappear again into the night

Forgotten once I no longer disturb your space
