Loving You

Loving You

A Poem by Dawn Jones

The moonlight looks beautiful in your eyes

As I look down on you from the skies

I catch a glimpse of the girl I used to know

The girl who was in love with me so long ago

A dream of things that could have been

Lost to yesterday and indecision

Was it all a lie that I believed

Seeing only what I wanted to see

But seeing you now

The moonlight sparkling in those eyes

I see the love you had for me

As you gaze up at the skies

This is heartbreaking, finding out the truth when in some cases may be too late but also a sense of closure, of knowing, that after the fact, the feeling, the love was returned.
