The Game of Life

The Game of Life

A Poem by Hecate Zariah

The weather chills me to the bone.
I just want to feel the sun, a light to shine and give me hope.
Where are those friends I need. It's so cold and I'm alone.
Darkness falls around me and I fear I will not see the light again.
Where are those friends that I need, the ones that promised to be there.
Emptiness is what I begin to feel. It's so cold and I'm alone.
The feel of such warm liquid, red in color, is it mine?
Where are those friends that I need, left to play their games with someone else.
Left alone in a world so cruel.
Laughter fades as I can no longer take the game.
Where are those friends that I need, the ones that I believe I never found.

The flow of your words is very well done. The word choice is great. I just found myself enjoying this poem, and the words that brought images in my head.
