not the same disappointment

not the same disappointment

A Poem by Alm

How long do you think

you can fool me?

Or are you not

even trying, for me,

at all?

I can see how you hide

that pack of cigarettes

from me.

How you don’t

look me in the eye

whenever you buy

some liquor.

I’m not

the same little girl

anymore.

I can see

what’s going on,

now.

I'm not going to say anything in particular... but... I think we all know what I mean when I say everybody has somebody like this in their lives. Then when we grow older, we finally realize what's going on. As the saying goes, ignorance is bliss. Now, pardon me while I stop thinking about it, and the rest of the depressing stuff in this world, and go watch some mindless cartoon on television.

I get that. It's frusterating when they don't know that you know, or you're to young to get it. Very good!

Very good. That 'little girl' has a more mature view of the world. We can all relate!

I can feel your emotion here. Its so sad when something like this happens.

I know that feeling, been through that with someone.

Alm is short for Alyssa Marie. I'm sixteen now, I don't claim to write well. I'm sorry if I review bad. Sometimes I bake snickerdoodles, the smell of cinnamon and vanilla on my fingertips lingers... more..
