with all the wrong colors

sunshine and butterflies

with scarlet and navy blues

falling to a distorted

out of place picture

that nobody could ever want

shading in the outline of

what should be happy

in grief and restrained sorrows

sorrows that she says

have no place lingering

in her heart

a heart that should have never

wanted for more

a heart she says

that should be content

with all that it has

and so she desperately tries to paint her pictures

with all her wrong colors

hoping that someday

it will come out right

Author's Note

I've been on a writer's block. And I have noticed my friends have new poems. And I will go review once finals are over, muhahha.

And, for the ending, I did it three times. This is the one I'm happiest with--but still not quite, I feel that it isn't strong enough. 'tis all, tell me what you think :)

For the ending- I would change "would" to "will." Minor correction, but it might help it resonate more soundly. Other than that, I'm quite impressed once again. No comment other than it's fabulous.

Writer's block is quite the villain, isn't it? I know how you feel, and I hope something comes by to inspire you soon.
As for the poem; in all honesty, it is one of the best poems I've seen written considering it was written simultaneously to writer's block. Nonetheless, I'm amazed by your poem once again, Alyssa. Well done.

I really like and can relate to this poem. Though I do see what you mean about the ending. Maybe somthing about a few more strokes, with all the wrong colors, a few more strokes, it would come out all right. I don't know. Good job!

I too suffered from writer's block for most of mid-august, oh well...there will be more poetic days.

Others simply see them as the wrong colors, though. :)
