Under this tree

Under this tree

A Poem by Irishrite

I would peel this burning flesh off right now but I'm afraid you wouldn't recognize me.
From where I sit I see so many ways to leave. A branch, a hill, a road. Has it really come to this? My eyes have seen to much anguish. Too much wrong with this world.
Falling like a leaf on a shaking tree.
This hole I am sinking into never ends.
Just down down down.
Begging and pleading for my heart to stop bleeding.
Wishing and crying but never quite dying.
Every limb hurts like it wants to snap off of me.
I am strong like the oak,
Or just like the rubber tree, a joke.
I'll never know which one.
Once you get to this place you have to do it. Leap of faith.....down down down.
Standing alone
I want to come home.
It's right over there, cant you see?
Underneath that maple tree.
Oh won't you please
Place me underneath that tree?

I see it’s right over there. You’re standing strong like a tall tree been through it all. Share the richness of your feelings.

This is the depiction of despair that many people feel but do not come to terms with.. we all go here but rarely confess it as honestly as you do..

so many great lines I loved in this piece:

Falling like a leaf on a shaking tree

Wishing and crying but never quite dying

Or just like the rubber tree, a joke

Well done describing the vulnerability of pain, loss, hopelessness.
