Ideal Suicide

Ideal Suicide

A Poem by Isabel25

Would it help…

If I replace my daily dose of candy,

With a fistful of pills?

Or choose to ignore a green light,

Get splattered on to a truck.

I could get into the tub,

With the blow dryer on.

Or go down the path of Plath-

Get baked nice and brown.

Starving is an option,

But not with lack of patience.

Could I jump from the tenth floor?

That's something I'd explore.

Slashing wrists- a bad cliché,

Not to mention my hemophobia.

And isn't poison too old school?

No creativity, whatsoever!

Could try and hang from the ceiling,

But its too familiar a feeling.

The ocean is out too

Who would fancy being fish food?

Tired as I am living,

A way out tires me more.

And the question keeps nagging,

‘Would anything help at all?’

Best of all ... is the reasoning you are able to provide.

Sweetest of all ... in Bangalore ... a poet does abide.

Abide, dear poet, and succumb not. Lest we weep, not for one who is unknown; but for one whose words have been known and have always been so sweetly adored. I fear I have become a ghost; PLEASE do not become as I. Do not succumb, dear poet, abide and yet abide.

Wow, it is indeed very deep, downright captures and projects the thoughts that run through a suicidee, well potrayed!

Thanks for stopping by Shivai... :)
a very interesting exploration into the mind of the one contemplating suicide...

much like Sexton's Wanting to Die where she expresses "like carpenters, they ask, what tools, never why build"

it's seems left out of the consideration...the effects to those left behind. or the reasons why?
more of what is the best method to use.

well expressed.

I really like this, I actually enjoyed how you explored the various methods. But at any rate this poem had a great flow to it and I love how you summed it all up in the last stanza. Can't wait to read more from you.
